Especially shocking were the scandalous new bathing suits. In 1923, the City of Chicago tried to clamp down, and here we see four naughty flappers taken in hand, as one captioner put it, "before their one-piece suits could sully the morals of the fellow citizens of Al Capone." I'll bet their parents were FURIOUS when they had to come down to the station and collect their daughters ... and hopefully got right to the seat of the problem.
