another interesting upcoming TV series, starting at unconfirmed date sometime this year is Outlander. Based on Diana Gabaldon's book, which has a spanking scene as posted on the forum here

Now here's the interesting bit. An interview with the writers on the upcoming series, talks explicity about the scene and confirms it will be included in the series:

The Spanking Scene:

There's one scene in the book that involves Jamie getting a little, er, aggressive, with Claire. When asked how the television series would deal with the moment, Moore replied, "It’s in the book, and it’s in the show. I mean, we’ve read the script, and it’s certainly an explosive scene that we’ll have to we’ll cut it and play with it and have to be on the set with the director. It’s down the road a little bit for us. We know we’re going to do it. It’s integral to the story. It’s a shocking moment, but it’s an important part of the development of one of the characters, so we’re going to go for it."

"Just to clarify," Gabaldon said, "He doesn’t beat the crap out of her. He spanks her bottom with his sword belt, and she doesn’t like it."

Heughan elaborated on the meaning behind (forgive me, couldn't be helped) the moment, saying, "It goes back to Jamie, obviously, trying to teach Claire to live in this world and his moral values, and obviously for us now in the modern day, it’s completely unheard of and wrong, but this is kind of — the whole show is about us, you know."

"Yeah, it’s a person out of time going to another culture in another time and a sense of justice in the sense of their social morals," Moore elaborated. "And she is a stranger in a strange land, and that is one of the moments. This really brings her up short about how things are done in this world and why. It’s not done for no reason. It’s done because she put men’s lives in danger, almost got several people killed. Everyone was in a mortal threat because of something she had done specifically, and in Jamie’s world and in the world at that time there’s a cost to that. There is a punishment that had to be exacted for that. Not that she really buys into it and doesn’t ever really want to do it or believe that it’s right, but we will play the moment."

Claire will be played by Caitriona Balfe
